The Campaign for the Billboard of “Father Ly’s Muted Mouth.”
Father Nguyen Van Ly and his associates on March 30, 2007 were sentenced from 5 to 8 years in prison by the VietNamese Communist Government. At the trial, Father Ly shouted "Down with Communism," during which time his mouth was physically muted by the attending court’s bailiff. Throughout the trial the Father and his associates repeatedly denied government’s alleged crime. At the same time they resolutely maintained their conviction to fight for a more democratic Vietnam. Please speak for him by promoting the campaign for the Billboard of “Father Ly’s Muted Mouth.”

Democracy Billboard was put up in San Francisco, Northern California

The Committee of Father Ly's Billboard in Northern California on Nov 1, 2007 unveiled the fourth billboard of Father Ly's Muted Mouth right next to Freeway 101, closed to the San Francisco International Airport.

The billboard of Father Ly, which shows his mouth was covered during a Vietnamese Communist trial held in March 2007, is clearly displayed to cars traverse on Freeway 101 between San Jose and San Fransisco. According to the Committee, three to four millions people commute on this freeway every month.

Speaking at the billboard-exhibited ceremony, Mr Nguyen Ngoc Tien, a Committee member said, "The Committee displays this picture to let the whole world know the real face of communism in Vietnam. Vietnamese people under the communist regime do not have human rights or freedom of speech..."

According to Mr Huynh Luong Thien, Editor of Thang Mo Newspaper in San Francisco and also a member of the Committee, this is the fourth billboard being posted in Northern California. Three others were displayed in San Jose, Oakland and Freemont. Mr Thien also said that since the first billboard was mounted in San Jose on June 7, 2007, more than 10 other billboards have been posted at different locations worldwide, in such a manner, which prompted by Father Phan Van Loi to comment, "Freedom mushrooms have been grown worldwide to end the Vietnamese communism."

Mr Thien said, "Through this picture, this is the price the Vietnamese communism has to pay for after so many years suppressing the people in Vietnam." The picture has been a pure headache for Vietnam's Communist leaders such as Nguyen Tan Dung and Nguyen Minh Triet whenever the world points out the issue of violations of Human Rights in Vietnam.
